Lesvos hides more waterfalls than one might imagine - small and large, scattered through forests, gorges, and streams that come to life after the rains. Many of them are located along marked or gentle paths, with relatively easy access, making them ideal for families as well, especially in spring and autumn. Others, more secluded, appeal to nature lovers seeking a more authentic exploration experience within the island's geological landscape.

The waterfalls of Lesvos form part of the island's natural heritage and are included within the broader framework of the UNESCO Global Geopark.

Man Katsa - The Classic Waterfall of Mandamados

One of the most well-known natural surprises of Lesvos, with water cascading between dark volcanic rocks approximately 15-20 metres high, forming a small natural pool. Access is relatively easy and suitable for families, particularly when the water flow is stronger after winter.

Nychtera (Klapados)

In a peaceful, natural setting near Kalloni, Nychtera waterfall offers a gentle hiking experience through dense vegetation. It is considered one of the more accessible spots and is a good option for families and relaxed outings.

Vathylimnos (Chidira - Pterounta)

Formed along ancient volcanic formations, Vathylimnos impresses with its natural pool and the forested landscape that surrounds it. The route requires slightly more attention, but rewards visitors with an authentic connection to the geological landscape of the Geopark.

Pessa (Polichnitos)

A lesser-known waterfall in Southern Lesvos, hidden within lush greenery. Ideal for those seeking a quieter experience away from the more visited spots.

Waterfalls of Eresos

Methalia, Tsombani Lakkos, and Peristeronas

In the wider Eresos area, streams shape impressive small waterfalls among volcanic fields and gorges. The routes here are mainly suited to more experienced hikers and nature lovers who wish to combine exploration with geological interest.
