A seaside mansion created for the aristocratic summers of Mytilene
Loriet is not simply a hotel. It is a historic mansion of Mytilene, built in the late 19th century and standing by the sea for almost 150 years.
Its story begins in the 1880s, when Achilleas Vournazos, a successful merchant of the Mytilenian diaspora, returned to Lesvos after years abroad.
Seeking a place that would combine prestige, comfort, and cosmopolitan elegance, he purchased a seaside estate of approximately 7 stremmas in Vareia and began constructing his summer residence.
The mansion was built between 1880 and 1888, facing the open horizon of the Aegean and surrounded by gardens.
